First Look At Christian Bale As Moses In Ridley Scott’s Exodus

After hanging up the cape and cowl, Christian Bale has gone on to do some excellent work. His first post-Batman role was in Out of the Furnace, and while the film itself wasn't too well received, the actor's performance was heavily praised. Following that he showed up in American Hustle, which is set to be a heavy hitter come Oscar night and might even earn Bale a Best Actor nod.

After hanging up the cape and cowl, Christian Bale has gone on to do some excellent work. His first post-Batman role was in Out of the Furnace, and while the film itself wasn’t too well received, the actor’s performance was heavily praised. Following that he showed up in American Hustle, which is set to be a heavy hitter come Oscar night and might even earn Bale a Best Actor nod.

Currently, he’s working on Ridley Scott’s Exodus and today, we have our first look (seen above) at the actor in the lead role, that of Moses. Co-starring Aaron Paul, Joel Edgerton, Ben Kingsley, John Turturro and Sigourney Weaver, the film will tell the Biblical story of the same name, which sees Moses leading his people out of Egypt and receiving the ten commandments.

Seeing as The Counselor bombed and Prometheus disappointed, Scott is in desperate need of a hit. It’s still too early to tell if Exodus will be his ticket back into the good books but with a cast this talented, and a story this epic, the film has all the makings of a winner. Plus, Bale rarely, if ever, disappoints and I cannot wait to see how he does as such an iconic figure like Moses. It seems like the perfect role for him actually and even if the film is a letdown, I have no doubt that he will turn in another powerful, awards worthy performance.

Exodus will march into theatres on December 12th, 2014. Check out the photo above and let us know what you think in the comments section below.
