Cinemaholics #48: Phantom Thread Review

Paul Thomas Anderson’s newest film, Phantom Thread is finally hitting more theaters, so the Cinemaholics have invited special guest Kimber Myers to help review it. Daniel Day-Lewis stars in what will apparently be his final film role ever (but hopefully not), along with Lesley Manville and Vicky Krieps, but does the pic deserve all of the Oscar hype it’s bound to get? The Cinemaholics discuss.

Also in this episode, the gang chat about Sundance, the impending Oscar nominations, and as always, they take some time to do a few Mini Reviews. Kimber starts us off with a rundown of Forever My Girl starring Jessica Rothe and Alex Roe, Jon tries his best to sum up his thoughts on 12 Strong starring Chris Helmsworth and Michael Shannon and Will digs into the new heist movie Den of Thieves starring Gerard Butler.

Also, Kimber gives a sneak peak of the new show The Alienist starring Daniel Bruhl and Luke Evans, Will shares his mixed feelings on Brian Taylor’s new film Mom and Dad starring Nicolas Cage and Selma Blair, and Jon runs through the pros and cons of the new Netflix original Step Sisters starring Megalyn Echikunwoke and Eden Sher.
