Plug in your headset of choice, because the Cinemaholics are ready to clash over their thoughts on Ready Player One, the new blockbuster feature from Steven Spielberg. Based on the book of the same name by Ernest Cline (who also helped write the screenplay with Zak Penn), the pic has a lot to say about virtual reality, nostalgia and what’s possible with CGI in 2018. But is it actually…good?
Later in the show, Will catches us up with his thoughts on the first few episodes of Barry, a new series on HBO starring Bill Hader, while he and Jon have a spirited discussion about Alex Inc., a new sitcom starring Zach Braff – but they mostly just talk about Scrubs for some reason.
Afterwards, Jon shares a crazy story about how he somehow inspired the writing of James Acaster in his new special Repertoire on Netflix, according to Acaster himself. And Will finishes the episode out with a review of Best F(r)iends, the latest film starring Greg Sestero and Tommy Wiseau of The Room fame.
