Arriving right on time, this is a suitably dark and brooding vertical slice of a remake that has been languishing on the brink of development for almost five years, during which time Branagh remained firmly attached to direct and star as the great Hercule Poirot – dashing white mustache and all.

Upon embarking on a great, meandering journey through mainland Europe, the Orient Express has filled its many carriages with a host of eclectic characters – the professor, the butler, the governess…you name it – and it’s enough to fuel one of the most nerve-racking whodunnits in recent memory.

Indeed once news of the heinous atrocity begins to filter through first class, those on board begin to nervously question one another, and the film’s tagline (clues are everywhere) will surely stoke a sense of curiosity in moviegoers. If that wasn’t enough, there’s also the movie’s impressive cast list to consider, which features Dead Men Tell No Tales star Johnny Depp, Daisy Ridley (The Last Jedi), Michelle Pfeiffer, Penelope Cruz, Josh Gad, Judi Dench, Michael Pena, Leslie Odom, Lucy Boynton and many, many more.

“My name is Hercule Poirot, and I am probably the greatest detective in the world.” Directing from a script by Michael Green, Kenneth Branagh will orchestrate a Murder on the Orient Express – everyone is a suspect, remember – on November 10th. It currently finds itself sandwiched between two superhero tentpoles by the name of Thor: Ragnarok (November 3rd) and Justice League (November 17th), so we’re intrigued to find out how Fox’s long-in-development remake fares at the box office. Meanwhile, the suitably moody first poster for Orient Express can be found below.

What starts out as a lavish train ride through Europe quickly unfolds into one of the most stylish, suspenseful and thrilling mysteries ever told. From the novel by best-selling author Agatha Christie, “Murder on the Orient Express” tells the tale of thirteen strangers stranded on a train, where everyone’s a suspect. One man must race against time to solve the puzzle before the murderer strikes again.
