Colin Farrell And Paula Patton Wanted For Warcraft Film

world-of-warcraft

Casting for Duncan Jones’ upcoming film Warcraft, based on the mega-popular video game franchise World of Warcraft, is underway. Deadline is the one breaking the news and they’re reporting that Paul Patton (2 Guns) is in contention for the lead role and Colin Farrell is apparently circling a part as well.

Scripted by Charles Leavitt, Warcraft will head into production in January, which means that we should have final confirmations on casting in the very near future. As for what the story will centre on, apparently it will follow an individual named Khadgar, a “young consul to the Kirin Tor senate, rulers of the city of Dalaran, who is charged with investigating a series of crimes that have rocked the city, but as we go on, we’ll find that his mission leads him into a quest beyond the city walls.”

Personally, I never got into World of Warcraft. I’ve played it a couple of times here and there but never found much enjoyment in it. That being said, I am a very big fan of Duncan Jones and absolutely loved both his debut film Moon and his excellent follow-up Source Code. His involvement alone has me very eager to see how Warcraft will turn out.

What do you think? Are you a fan of Duncan Jones? Do you want to see Colin Farrell and Paula Patton star in Warcraft? Let us know in the comments below.
