First Look At Colin Farrell In Total Recall

After getting a great look at The Amazing Spider-Man, we now get our first look at Total Recall. The image, seen above, features Colin Farrell as the lead, Douglas Quaid. Quaid is "a factory worker who begins to think he’s a spy, but doesn’t know whether it’s for Euromerica or New Shanghai, one of the two superpower countries in this world."

After getting a great look at The Amazing Spider-Man earlier today, we now get our first look at Total Recall. The image, seen above, features Colin Farrell as the lead, Douglas Quaid. Quaid is “a factory worker who begins to think he’s a spy, but doesn’t know whether it’s for Euromerica or New Shanghai, one of the two superpower countries in this world.”

Len Wiseman is behind the camera for this remake and he’s assembled a strong cast consisting of Bryan Cranston, Billy Nighy, Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel. The film is currently shooting with an August 3rd, 2012 release date in its sights.

This one can really go one of two ways. On one hand, Wiseman behind the camera could be risky, the man doesn’t exactly have a strong track record, leaving films like the Underworld series in his wake. Then again he also did Live Free or Die Hard which wasn’t all that bad.

On the other hand though, look at that cast. It’s quite appealing and it would be hard to craft a crummy film with that caliber of acting leading the way. Sure, Beckinsale and Biel may just be pretty faces but Farrell, Cranston and Nighy should be able to provide the perfect amount of weight to the film to make it a worthy watch.

Plus, the original Total Recall is pretty well liked so I suspect that most people will go into this one with an open mind, willing to give it a chance.
