At D23 today, Jurassic World helmer Colin Trevorrow took the stage to announce that he would be directing Star Wars: Episode IX. After pulling in $1.6 billion for Universal with the fourth film in their Jurassic series, it’s no wonder that everyone wants a piece of the up and coming director.

While Trevorrow has been rumored for the gig for some time now, this is the first official confirmation we’ve received. Of course, no plot or casting details were revealed for the film, but at least we now know who will be in the director’s chair when cameras get rolling. That won’t be for a while, however, as Star Wars: Episode IX isn’t slated to touch down in theatres until some time in 2019.

For now, head on down to the comments section and let us know if you’re happy with Colin Trevorrow taking the reigns of the ninth main entry into this legendary series.
