Warner Bros. and DC have the crowd in their hand right now in Hall H over at Comic-Con, and as the panel continues, the studios are wheeling out the director and cast of next year’s Suicide Squad, teasing the anticipated flick with a new trailer and concept art.

“Oh I’m not gonna kill you. I’m just gonna hurt you really really badly,” Jared Leto’s Joker intones in the new trailer, chilling the Con audience to the bone. His performance is insane, from the sounds of it. The trailer also features Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) ruminating, “Maybe Superman was some kind of beacon that drew them from the shadows.” The impact of Man of Steel is here too.

Director David Ayer along with Will Smith, Margot Robbie and other cast members from Suicide Squad came out on stage to pump up the fans. “You guys run this shit, we’re making this movie for you. it’s all about canon, it’s all about being true to the source material. You know what you want and we’re going to give it to you,” Deadline quotes the director as saying.

Suicide Squad isn’t the biggest film on WB and DC’s slate but it is one that fans are looking forward to with almost rabid enthusiasm, and that was definitely reflected in the film’s tease today.
