The extensive sneak peek at next year’s superhero blockbuster is one of the most incredible trailers we’ve seen in some time, simply put. It puts the flick into perspective as part of a much bigger superhero universe while cementing it as a fascinating study in heroes at odds, with Superman (Henry Cavill) and Batman (Ben Affleck) facing off in a battle that could have global repercussions. This film will set up the Justice League, and seeing all the teases for that superhero team-up blockbuster here is a real treat.

More exciting, though, is the gorgeous, gritty visual feel of Batman V Superman. Snyder’s attention to detail is on full display, and some of these shots are straight-up museum-worthy. One area in which Marvel has fallen short is visual beauty (which is a very different thing than spectacle) and if WB and DC could follow through with creating gorgeous tableaus that also function as superhero flicks, they could be every bit the competition for Marvel that some are predicting they will be.

The cast also includes Jeremy Irons as Alfred, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jason Momoa as Aquaman and many, many more.

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice flies into theaters next year on March 26, 2016.

“Fearing the actions of a god-like super hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.”
