Creepy New Trailer For The Woman In Black: Angel Of Death Never Forgives, Never Forgets

It seems the resident ghoul of Eel Marsh House is back with a vengeance (or, depending on how you look at it, never left without fully exacting it) as Hammer Film Productions has debuted a new full-length trailer for Tom Harper’s upcoming horror sequel, The Woman in Black: Angel of Death.

Starring Jeremy Irvine, Phoebe Fox and Leanne Best as the titular and indeed malevolent spirit, Angel of Death will take place forty years after the events of the 2012 original and thrust the aforementioned characters in to the midst of World War II. It’s during this time that Eel Marsh House is serving as a temporary bomb shelter — although given what’s lurking beneath the crumbling exterior, I would have rather taken my chances with the Nazi bombers.

Without The Boy Who Lived to cast any stupefy spells — now that Daniel Radcliffe has his slate full with the likes of Horns and Frankenstein — Irvine’s Harry Burnstow must find a way to rescue the residents of the haunted house before it’s too late.

If, at this point, you’re rolling your eyes and whispering ‘been there, done that’, then you should cast your mind back to the original film: a tense and atmospheric thriller than managed to keep audiences on edge throughout despite treading over some well-worn ground. So, with that in mind, we’re willing to give The Woman in Black: Angel of Death the benefit of the doubt.

The Woman in Black: Angel of Death will loom into theaters on January 1st, 2015.

“As bombs rain down on London during the Blitz of World War II, a group of school children are evacuated with Eve, their young and beautiful schoolteacher, to the safety of the English countryside. Taken to an old and empty estate, cut-off by a causeway from the mainland, they are left at Eel Marsh House.”
