While in Las Vegas, actor Matt Damon recently took some time to talk about a few of his upcoming projects, most notably the Liberace biopic and a possible fourth Bourne film. The first film, the Liberace biopic, which will tell the story of the famous entertainer, will star a whole slew of well known actors and actresses. The cast boasts names like Matt Damon, Michael Douglas, Kate Winslet, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jude Law and Marion Cotillard. [via The Playlist]
Damon tells us now that the film has been delayed to a summer 2011 shoot since Damon’s wife is expecting another baby. Damon had this to say about the film:
“Yeah, it’s going to happen. We’re going to do it next summer,” he told the Las Vegas Sun. “Stephen Soderberg [sic] is directing it. Michael Douglas is going to play Lee. It’s a terrific script. Richard LaGravenese has written a really great script and, you know, hopefully it will be a really great movie. I don’t see why it wouldn’t be.”
In regards to a fourth Bourne movie, Damon pretty much made clear the same thing he’s told us before. In the past, he has said he’ll only make a fourth Bourne movie if director Paul Greengrass returns. It seems he still feels the same way:
“Absolutely yes [I’ll return to the franchise],” Damon emphatically told the Las Vegas Weekly. “I love the character. I love the stories. But only if Paul Greengrass says he will direct again. So far, though, he’s decided not to. I’d definitely say yes if he went for it. I know he would have a great story, and it would protect the legacy of what we created.”
The way things are looking right now, it doesn’t look like Bourne or Greengrass will return for a fourth Bourne film. If this is so, it begs the question, who will play Bourne in the already announced fourth Bourne movie?
