A while back we heard that Daniel Craig was joining an upcoming courtroom drama titled The Whole Truth. Set to be directed by Courtney Hunt, the film was all ready to head into production next week. Now, THR is reporting that Craig has departed the project and producers are “scrambling to find a replacement.”

Renee Zellweger and Gabriel Basso are still set for their roles, but the film is now without a leading man. Production is expected to be pushed back three weeks in order to give the producers time to find a new actor to fill Craig’s shoes. Unfortunately, as of the current moment, we don’t have any idea of who might replace him.

For those who haven’t been keeping up, The Whole Truth is scripted by Nicholas Kazan and was set to have Craig playing a district attorney. No other plot details have been revealed but apparently, this is a pretty hot project.

I always love a good courtroom drama and The Whole Truth sounds like it definitely has some potential, judging from the talent involved. Plus, if Craig attached himself to the film in the first place, you can bet that there’s a good script here. While it’s definitely unfortunate to see him go, I don’t think that the producers will have too much difficulty finding a replacement.

Tell us, who would you like to see replace Daniel Craig in The Whole Truth?
