Daniel Radcliffe is certainly doing everything he can to shed his Harry Potter persona, and this is no more evident than in the first trailer for the highly anticipated Kill Your Darlings, which already premiered to rave reviews at Sundance and is getting ready to hit TIFF this week.

Directed by John Krokidas, Kill Your Darlings is a sexy, stylish and fast-paced look at the formative years of the Beat Generation, which was started by poets Allen Ginsberg, Lucien Carr, William Burroughs and Jack Kerouac. It follows Ginsberg during his time at Columbia and takes us right through to the murder of David Kammerer, a pivotal moment for the young poets.

Co-starring alongside Radcliffe are Dane DeHaan, Jack Huston, Michael C. Hall and Ben Foster. It’s a stellar cast and as you can see in the trailer below, everyone is putting in their best work. Also evident in the trailer are the excellent production values, which really bring the time period to life wonderfully.

In addition to the trailer, we also have a clip featuring the mesmerizing Dane DeHaan, who is firing on all cylinders here and steals every scene that he’s in.

Check out both videos below and let us know what you think of Kill Your Darlings. And be sure to keep an eye out later tonight for our review of the film, straight from TIFF.
