Production has officially wrapped on the set of Alien: Covenant – but not before Danny McBride can share another behind-the-scenes snap.

Set to take the helm of Ridley Scott’s titular space vessel, McBride took to Instagram to post one final look into what we assume to be the cockpit of the Covenant, promising that, “Ridley is going to scare the shit out of you.” Given the awe-inspiring set photos coupled with the promise of a Xenomorph slithering onto the scene, we’re inclined to believe him.

Hoping to correct course after the largely underwhelming Prometheus – it was by no means Alien: Resurrection, but Scott’s prequel spinoff paled in comparison to the director’s original classic – Alien Covenant is the second chapter in the filmmaker’s planned prequel trilogy, one that has subsequently ordered Neill Blomkamp’s proposed Alien sequel to the shelf, for now. Should that plan take shape, it’ll eventually dovetail with the seminal film that spawned it all back in 1979.

Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the official plot synopsis for Covenant teases the appearance of Michael Fassbender’s bloodcurdling synthetic, David. Noomi Rapace is also back as Elizabeth Shaw, despite rumors to the contrary, but could we be introduced to the true home of the Engineers? Time will tell.

Alien: Covenant is booked in for launch on August 4, 2017. Billy Crudup, Demián Bichir, Carmen Ejogo, Jussie Smollett and Amy Seimetz complete the ensemble.
