One talented Marvel fan wouldn’t let the Daredevil Netflix series cancellation stop his dream of seeing the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen stand toe-to-toe with one of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in the Avengers: Endgame trailer.

It’s a known fact that there will be no shortage of Marvel characters in the fourth Avengers film. With time travel being rumored to be a factor in this epic conclusion to the Infinity Saga, it’s safe to say we’ll see some individuals who’ve perished before and possibly some new faces, too. Of all the possibilities though, it seems very unlikely that anyone from The Defenders will be making an appearance.

But that didn’t stop one fan from keeping the dream alive. Utilizing some clever editing techniques, the latest Endgame trailer is tinkered with to the point where Captain Marvel is replaced by Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock in full costume standing face-to-face with the God of Thunder Thor.

The crossover we'll never see (or at least Matt Murdock won't)

Daredevil doesn’t flinch one bit, keeping his composure the entire time as Point Break sizes him up. And even when Stormbreaker flies in from the back which we know, for a few reasons, that Murdock did not see that coming, he’s not at all impressed by this flagrant showboating. He proves that not only is he absolutely Avengers material, but he’s not afraid to tangle with a god.

There’s no question the leftover heroes from the Decimation could definitely use all the help they can get and while it’s highly unlikely that the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen will make an appearance in Endgame, it’s definitely safe to say he could hold his own. It’s also safe to assume he’d benefit the cause greatly if he was called upon to fight against the likes of the Mad Titan or any other deadly cosmic threat.

Of course, Daredevil was a big hit with fans and it was definitely a huge disappointment when it was abruptly canceled. It was rumored that the show may find life on other networks, but recent reports indicate that Matt Murdock, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage are pretty much dead in the water. For now, then, Charlie Cox’s name won’t be on an Avengers poster anytime soon and the Man Without Fear will probably be riding the sidelines for the foreseeable future.

Murdock is definitely the hero we deserve, but for what most fans consider unfair reasons, he’s not the hero the MCU fans will be getting. Even with Daredevil not in the lineup though, it’ll still be an epic event when Avengers: Endgame touches down in theaters on April 26th, 2019.
