The Dark Knight Rises MTV Movie Awards Clip Has Arrived

A new clip from The Dark Knight Rises premiered tonight at the MTV Movie Awards and we have it below for your viewing pleasure. Gary Oldman, Christian Bale and Joseph Gordon-Levitt came on stage first and together they spoke about the series and the character of Batman. We were then treated to a quick montage of all three films, though it was mostly comprised of footage from Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. Old favorites like The Joker, Two-Face and The Scarecrow all made an appearance and after the montage finished, Bale looked a bit choked up from seeing Ledger on screen.

UPDATE: Warner Bros. has asked us to remove the clip.

A new clip from The Dark Knight Rises premiered tonight at the MTV Movie Awards, and we have it for your viewing pleasure.

Then Christopher Nolan came on stage to introduce the actual clip itself. As it starts, we quickly realize that it’s not a clip at all, rather it’s more of a sizzle reel. It starts off with a scene between Anne Hathaway and Joseph Gordon-Levitt and from there, it takes off, showcasing a ton of awesome footage.

The whole thing ran for about a minute and a half and I’d say it was about 90% new footage that focused heavily on Catwoman (Anne Hathaway) and Bane (Tom Hardy).

Admittedly, there’s some pretty epic shots in the montage/trailer/clip (whatever you want to call it) and it was easily worth sitting through the horrid awards ceremony. It’s hard to digest it all and I’m definitely going to need to give this one some repeat viewings but there are a ton of intriguing and exciting shots in here that will surely have fans excited.

The Dark Knight Rises hits theatres on July 20th, 2012.
