The Dark Knight Rises: New Photos And Prologue Release Confirmed For December 21st

Warner Brothers is continuing their huge tease of The Dark Knight Rises, the final film in Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy. The film's highly anticipated prologue will finally be released in select IMAX theaters on December 21. Previous rumors said that it would appear alongside Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol (ugh) because of its premiere on the same day, but thankfully AMC announced the preview would only play on 70mm capable screens, which are more common at regular movie theaters, not just special IMAX ones.

Warner Brothers is continuing their huge tease of The Dark Knight Rises, the final film in Christopher Nolan‘s Batman trilogy.

The film’s highly anticipated prologue will finally be released in select IMAX theaters on December 21. Previous rumors said that it would appear alongside Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol (ugh) because of its premiere on the same day, but thankfully AMC announced the preview would only play on 70mm capable screens, which are more common at regular movie theaters, not just special IMAX ones. Hopefully we’ll be able to tell you which movies the prologue will be appearing with soon, because this is obviously a little confusing.

The prologue will show the first six minutes of the film, and according to the filmmakers, it is “an introduction to Bane, and a taste of the rest of the film.” Such flirts.

In other Batman news, we may have a few more hints from Empire‘s newly released images of the film. There are some great shots and personally, I’m a big fan of the one with Bane holding up the picture of Harvey Dent. What do you think he’s using that for? Rallying the citizens of Gotham?

Be sure to check out all of the pictures below and let us know what you think will be in the prologue of The Dark Knight Rises in the comments.
