Everyone knows at the end of Return Of The Jedi Darth Vader dies an unfortunate death, just as he finds the good inside. So that would mean there’s no chance of seeing Vader in Star Wars: Episode VII or in the new trilogy at all, right?

Well, not so fast says Express, as they claim that not only can Vader reappear, but he will, and he’ll play an important role in the new trilogy.

“He’s an integral part of the franchise. Replacing him is virtually impossible. The plan is for him to return and play a significant role in the new films. This is science fiction remember. Darth Vader will rise from the ashes.”

As interesting as a Vader return sounds, I’m very skeptical. This news is coming from unnamed “film mole” and it seems like a bit of a stretch.

Not only did Vader die in Luke’s arms, but then Luke burned his body out of respect. As nice of a gesture as that was by the young Skywalker, it also ensured that the job was done. Vader was dead.

I understand this is sci-fi, and technically anything is possible, but Vader’s story was complete. Now it’s time to see more of what happens to his children and to find out about his grandchildren. Then again, if they could find a way to believably bring Vader back, it’d be a great way to include arguably the franchise’s most famous character.

What do you think of a Darth Vader return? Would it be a brilliant move by Disney or do you think he needs to stay dead? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
