With the recent announcement of the lineup for the 65th Cannes Film Festival, we now know that David Cronenberg‘s Cosmopolis will definitely be in competition at this year’s fest.

To celebrate the film’s entrance into the festival, a new trailer was released today. From the brief amount of footage shown below, it looks like Cronenberg has a hit on his hands with this edgy adaptation of Don DeLillo’s 2003 novel. All of the director’s signature trademarks are here. Cosmopolis looks odd, disturbing, full of sex and violence and just hands down bizarre. In other words, it’s a David Cronenberg film.

Cosmopolis stars Robert Pattinson, Juliette Binoche, Sarah Gadon, Jay Baruchel, Samantha Morton and Paul Giamatti. It is expected to release this Fall.

Check out the trailer below.
