With the Uncharted film finally getting into production, director David O. Russell is starting to assemble a cast. He’s already chosen Mark Wahlberg to star and now he is looking to cast the female lead. Apparently he has his eye on Scarlett Johansson to play the role of Elena. While speaking to Empire, Amy Adams was brought up in a discussion about the female lead, Russell replied:

“Oh I would love that too, I love Amy. I also love Scarlett Johansson; there’s a lot of great actors I think might suit.”

It’s an interesting pick, I wonder how the fans of the game will react to this news, as they weren’t too thrilled about O. Russell’s decision of casting Wahlberg. The role hasn’t been cast yet but he does definitely have her in mind, and after a recent slew of Oscar nominations he has garnered for The Fighter, it’s hard to imagine that she’ll turn him down. However it is important to note that O. Russell doesn’t have a finished script yet, so it’ll be hard for him to lock down any big name actors. Meanwhile, tell us what do you think of this choice for the role of Elena.
