DCEU Report Claims The Flash Has Been Pushed To 2020; Gotham City Sirens Targeting February 2019

Take this with a minute pinch of salt, but a 4chan leak reportedly reveals new release windows for Gotham City Sirens and The Flash.
This article is over 7 years old and may contain outdated information

If there’s one genre in Hollywood that tends to churn out enough rumors and unfounded tidbits to sink a ship, it’s the genre of costumed heroes. More often than not, the reason for this is two-fold: For one, fan attention and general hype results in a blinding spotlight being placed on just about every superhero project in development, while the sheer volume of movies – from Marvel to DC and everywhere in between – means that we’re never too far away from online speculation pertaining to our favorite heroes.

The latest deluge of alleged tidbits hails from a 4chan leak, and has now been relayed online by the DCEU subreddit (via Screen Geek). We should warn you that a couple of these as-yet-unconfirmed nuggets of information could be considered as spoilers, so if you want to remain in the dark about DC’s movie slate going forward, avert thy eyes!

First thing’s first, 4chan’s leak claims The Flash has been bumped way, way back to 2020, where it’ll rub shoulders with Cyborg and Green Lantern Corps. Barry Allen’s solo movie had previously been penciled in for early 2018, before losing not one, but two directors. In slightly more positive news, Gotham City Sirens is purportedly eyeing a February 2019 release, with David Ayer directing a script from Tomb Raider scribe Geneva Robertson-Dworet. There are also rumors pertaining to Man of Steel 2 and Justice League Dark, along with a brief mention that Warner Bros. is seemingly “very pleased” with how Wonder Woman panned out.

You can gauge the legitimacy of those rumors – and many more! – down below.

The budget for Wonder Woman is 125 million. The studio is very pleased with how the film turned out and early discussions for a potential sequel have been discussed.

The Justice League trailer will debut in April and will be attached to Fate of the Furious. The plan is also to release a scene from Justice League in front of King Arthur similar to how the Dark Knight trilogy marketed their films.

Dr. Stephen Shin will appear in Aquaman. The studio is currently searching for actors for the role.

Brainiac will be the main villain for Man of Steel 2. The story was written by Geoff Johns and Zack Snyder. The plan is to place the film on the November 1st, 2019 release date.

Although Doug Liman is attached to direct Justice League Dark, the film is not considered a priority.

Gotham City Sirens is being targeted for February 2019.

The Flash film has been pushed back to 2020.

All of this is yet to be confirmed by Warner Bros. at the time of writing, so it’s best to take each and every tidbit with a minute grain of salt.

Returning to the realm of reality, we know Wonder Woman is next to tumble off the WB production line on June 2nd, before Gal Gadot joins forces with DC’s finest heroes for Zack Snyder’s Justice League movie. Look for that one to descend into theaters on November 17th.
