Deadpool 2 Will Apparently Make Fun Of Disney’s Frozen

Though Ryan Reynolds had to cut a certain Disney joke from Deadpool 2, he did get to keep in a jab at Frozen, apparently.

Is there another superhero out there who’s able to break the fourth wall like Wade Wilson?

Ahead of the release of Deadpool 2, Ryan Reynolds’ irreverent, gun-toting mercenary has been taking jabs at Disney, Josh Brolin, Céline Dion (!) and even the DC Extended Universe. And that’s just the promotional campaign we’re talking about.

Because as Reynolds recently revealed to Entertainment Weekly, there was one particularly contentious Disney joke that made its way into the Deadpool 2 script. It’s not there anymore, mind you, as writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick were forced to cut the mysterious gag at the behest of 20th Century Fox. And while some fans may be upset to hear that, Reynolds believes it was probably for the best:

“This is a sore spot for me because there’s a joke in the movie that is not in the movie now because — I’m probably not even allowed to say this — Fox made me take it out,” said the actor. “It had more to do with Disney, and they made me take it out. As I look back at it, I think maybe that was a wise decision.”

Still, you can bet that the Merc with a Mouth will be taking aim at a whole bunch of different companies, properties and famous faces throughout the film and though Fox made him cut the Disney joke, Reynolds apparently got to keep a running gag in the sequel which revolves around Frozen. What exactly said gag will be about is unknown at this stage, but perhaps we’ll see Wade Wilson break out in song singing “Let It Go.”

Time will tell, but what we know for sure is that Deadpool 2 reaches theaters on May 18th and we simply can’t wait to revel in the hilarity and pop culture references that David Leitch and Ryan Reynolds have in store for us. As for a third Deadpool movie though? Well, don’t hold your breath, after Reynolds cooled talks of it happening earlier this week.
