Deadpool 2 mutants

The Leading Ladies Of Deadpool 2 Headline Stylish New Character Posters

Today brings forth four kick-ass motion posters for Deadpool 2, and they're designed to honor the leading ladies of Fox's superhero sequel.

So much attention has been paid to Cable and Domino (Josh Brolin and Zazie Beetz, respectively) that you’d be forgiven for overlooking the ensemble cast underpinning Deadpool 2.

Front and center is Ryan Reynolds as the irreverent, fast-talking Wade Wilson, while we’ve also caught wind of the sequel’s new mutants – namely Julian Dennison (Rusty Collins?), Shioli Kutsuna (Surge?), Bill SkarsgÃ¥rd (It: Chapter Two) and Terry Crews of Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

It’s an impressive lineup by anyone’s standards, but it’s now time to run the rule over Deadpool 2‘s leading ladies: Domino, Vanessa, Negasonic Teenage Warhead and the hilarious Blind Al, who is about the closest thing to a surrogate mother as Wade Wilson is likely to get. Indeed, as the countdown to May 18th continues, 20th Century Fox (h/t CBM) has dropped a series of kick-ass motion posters that can be found below.

Retaining the comic book-style of Deadpool‘s source material, each Tweet includes a short clip from the sequel’s most recent trailer, before revealing the individual attributes and powers of that particular character. So whereas Negasonic Teenage Warhead’s “explosion manipulation” is off the charts, Morena Baccarin’s Vanessa is a clear winner when it comes to “Wade tolerance.”

What’s more, now that X-Men: Dark Phoenix has slipped into 2019 – rumor has it that Fox and Simon Kinberg are bracing for “extensive reshoots” that will involve overhauling the film’s third act – the studio can devote their attention to Deadpool 2, which is the closest thing to a sure-fire hit that we’re likely to see in the blockbuster space…Avengers: Infinity War notwithstanding.

And it all kicks off on May 18th. The question, really, is whether Deadpool 2 can emulate the box office success of its predecessor, which blew past all expectations on its journey to $783 million worldwide.
