Not even 24 hours have passed since Josh Brolin’s Cable was unveiled to the worldcute teddy bear included – and Just Jared has now relayed the latest helping of Deadpool 2 set photos that find the Avengers: Infinity War actor shooting scenes on the streets of Vancouver. Similar to how Ryan Reynolds fast-tracked Domino’s official character portrait before the paparazzi could spoil the surprise, if nothing else, today’s new set snaps act as confirmation that Reynolds’ plan worked like a charm. What’s more, they also unveil Josh Brolin’s stunt double and a heavily-armed truck smashing through the bustling Canadian city.

The real point of discussion will be how these scenes in question filter into Deadpool 2‘s story – a story rustled up by returning screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. It’s worth noting that the Merc With a Mouth is conspicuous by his absence, so there’s a good chance his newfound co-stars – namely Cable and Zazie Beetz’s Domino – are causing a ruckus in Vancouver. Besides, if last week’s deluge of stills is any indication, it shouldn’t be too long before Wade Wilson joins the fray.

Per Just Jared:

These photos were accompanied by an all-too-brief Twitter video as well, which presents a bird’s-eye view of that aforementioned army truck smashing through the urban landscape. It’s a scene that evokes memories of Inception‘s elongated train snaking its way through the city, so we’re intrigued to find out how this plays into Deadpool 2‘s plot.

Filming continues apace, so you can readily expect another helping of candid photos before the week is out. Until we have those images for you, though, you can share your early impressions of Cable’s get-up via the comments section.

Indeed, Nathan Summers is one of two big-name comic book roles to be played by Josh Brolin in 2018, with the other being Thanos for Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War. It’ll open on May 4th, 2018, before the Merc stages his sophomore outing on June 1st.
