Deadpool May Make His MCU Debut In Spider-Man 3

With the Disney/Fox deal officially closed, Marvel Studios can finally begin to work out how they'll be bringing the X-Men universe characters into the MCU. And though they still haven't revealed exactly what they have in mind, there’s a good chance that the first Fox hero to get his own Disney standalone project will be Deadpool.

After all, we already know that the Merc with a Mouth will be the only one who won’t be recast and when you consider how much momentum the Deadpool series has at the moment, the Mouse House won’t want to leave us waiting too long to see Wade Wilson again. But how, exactly, will he make his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut?

Well, we’re hearing from MCU Cosmic tonight that Kevin Feige and co. are currently mulling over three different options, and they’re as follows:

  • A new solo film, such as Deadpool 3.
  • A Disney Plus limited series.
  • Guest-starring in Spider-Man 3.

At the moment, it’s unclear which of the above methods they’ll go with, but all three present interesting routes to head in. A Deadpool 3 is probably what fans would want most, but a Disney Plus series would give Marvel a ton of room to flesh out the Merc’s story and detail how he found his way into the MCU.

And as for giving him a guest starring gig in Spider-Man 3, well, who wouldn’t want to see Ryan Reynolds and Tom Holland team up on the big screen? That’s basically a recipe for a billion dollar box office hit. Regardless of how the studio decides to integrate Deadpool into the MCU though, we imagine it won’t be too difficult given that he’s long been able to get away with breaking the rules of continuity.

How do you think DP should enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe, though? Sound off below with your thoughts.
