Taking another light-hearted jab at the Hollywood movie-making machine, 20th Century Fox has debuted the teaser trailer for Tim Miller’s upcoming Deadpool adaptation, narrated by, er, the Merc with a Mouth himself.

Ahead of the full red band trailer reveal tomorrow, the teaser is merely a means of setting the tone, as Ryan Reynold’s titular, potty-mouthed anti-hero readies himself to break through the Internet’s fourth wall. Of a similar length to the sizzle reel showcased during San Diego Comic-Con, it’s understood that the trailer will premiere during Conan, with the talk show even “filling up [Deadpool‘s] dressing room with chimichangas in anticipation.”

Reprising his role as Wade Wilson, Reynolds even pokes fun at Fox’s decision to “inexplicably sew his f*cking mouth shut the first time” for X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and if there was any lasting doubt that Miller’s take on the beloved, wholly unhinged mercenary would disregard its source material, this clip ought to dispel any apprehensions.

Alongside Reynolds for the unconventional superhero flick are Brianna Hildebrand’s Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Homeland and Gotham actress Morena Baccarin, who assumes the role of Vanessa Carlysle/Copycat. There’s also room for T.J. Miller as Weasel and Haywire‘s Gina Carano as Angel Dust, while it’s been confirmed that the mutant Colossus will appear in the film in some capacity.

Tim Miller’s ass-kicking, foul-mouthed mercenary will blow the doors off your local cinema when Deadpool is released on February 12, 2016. Check back tomorrow when we’ll have full coverage of the film’s first full-length trailer.

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
