Update: Keeping the momentum burning bright from today’s slew of posters, a pair of Suicide Squad magazine covers have landed via Cinema Teaser.
Original Story: It’s June 1 and summer is almost upon us – in the Northern Hemisphere, at least – and with little over two months until the film’s anticipated debut, Warner Bros. has rolled out garish new character posters for Suicide Squad.
Currently up for sale at GB Posters (thanks, CBM), the one-sheets cast light on arguably three of the most popular (palatable?) members of David Ayer’s Task Force X – Harley Quinn, Deadshot and Jared Leto’s irreverent Clown Prince of Crime, the Joker. Also included in the gallery above are an ensemble shot touting the caption “In Squad We Trust,” and a eye-catching poster that places Leto’s mad hatter at the center of the chaos.
It’s the latest in a long string of promo material for Suicide Squad; just yesterday, Warner also pumped out soccer-themed snippets for Ayer’s anti-hero feature in anticipation of the imminent Euro 2016 tournament. They offered fresh looks at Task Force X ready for action, but little else.
Headlining that all-star cast of freaks and geeks are Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, Cara Delevingne, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, the high-ranking government official who births the black ops group in the first place.
Suicide Squad is pegged to arrive in theatres on August 5.
