A new IMAX trailer for Skyfall premiered last night, featuring more plot details and a deeper look at some of the characters. The trailer screened at an IMAX event and will only be shown in IMAX theaters, meaning that it will not be posted on the internet (or at least an official version won’t).

So if you want to actually see it for yourself, your best bet is catching an IMAX screening of The Dark Knight Rises. That being said, /Film was on hand to see the trailer with their own eyes and they’ve reported on what they got a taste of.

Check out what they had to say below.

“There are a couple new key bits in the trailer. One is a very useful bit of plot info, in which Ralph Fiennes chastises M (Judi Dench) for the fact that she (or one of her agents) lost a flash drive containing the true identity of every British agent embedded in a terrorist operation. Clearly that will have some bearing on the plot, at least as far as providing a MacGuffin to motivate some action.”

The trailer also gives the first footage of Ben Whishaw as Q, just days after the first image of the character was released. It appears Q will continue in his traditional role of being Bond’s comedic foil as well, with /Film reporting that the two have a few humours exchanges.

Furthermore, a couple more action scenes were shown off as well, including a tube train crashing in London and a fight on top of a moving train in Turkey.

In fact, the trailer seemed to cover all the bases, except for one. Apparently, not much was shown of the villain, played by Javier Bardem. That’s understandable though, the studio doesn’t want to show all their cards just yet, it’s still early.

As more pieces of the film start to be revealed, Skyfall looks more and more like it will be the worthy piece of the Bond franchise that many fans felt Quantum of Solace wasn’t.

In my opinion, November 9th can’t come soon enough.
