Disney Releases Official Avengers: Endgame Plot Synopsis

When it comes to Avengers: Endgame, it could be argued that Marvel Studios need not reveal too much before opening weekend. After all, the film's predecessor, Infinity War, raked in more than $2 billion at the worldwide box office, so it stands to reason that most moviegoers will return to cinemas for a second helping.

Still, I imagine that True Believers desire some sort of information going in. Most fortunate for us all then, an official plot synopsis has surfaced over at Disney’s Australian website, and here’s how it reads:

After the devastating events of Avengers: Infinity War (2018), the universe is in ruins due to the efforts of the Mad Titan, Thanos. With the help of remaining allies, the Avengers must assemble once more in order to undo Thanos’ actions and restore order to the universe once and for all, no matter what consequences may be in store.

Truth be told, that’s pretty much what I’d expected to learn. But when it comes to the “no matter what consequences may be in store” bit, it’s very possible that fans will discuss what that entails. Admittedly, it does sound kind of grim.

If you were to ask me, this means Earth’s Mightiest Heroes will do whatever it takes at the risk of their own lives – not those belonging to civilians. Even though the parts per million of carbon dioxide in Earth’s atmosphere have been considerably trimmed following Thanos’ pivotal snap, I’m sure the surviving Avengers will do all they can to restore the status quo.

Needless to say, we’ll learn all the answers once Avengers: Endgame arrives in theaters on April 26th. The upcoming blockbuster is reportedly being met with praise by test audiences, so it’s probably safe to say the Mouse House has truckloads of cash coming its way.
