It’s been an excruciatingly lengthy half-decade wait for the long-awaited sequel, but Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has finally begun rolling out in theaters around the world, and it’s every bit as thrilling and delightful as its impeccable predecessor.

We’re going to hazard a guess here and presume that you may be sitting in the theater next to an empty bucket of popcorn, absolutely dumbstruck by that absolutely brutal cliffhanger of an ending. If we’re on the money, it’s also quite likely that another pressing question is on your mind – does Across the Spider-Verse have a post-credits scene?

Second and final warning, if you don’t fall into the camp that we just described – you should probably avert your eyes now.

Is there a post-credits scene in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse?

Well, you just saw what went down in the closing moments of the film – what do YOU think the answer to that is? Having set up so many dominoes to be toppled – with our protagonist Miles from universe 1610 face to face with (and at the mercy of) Prowler Miles of earth 42, and Gwen assembling the team of all of our fan-favorite Spider-folk to mount a rescue mission, Across the Spider-Verse has set up more than its fair share of titillating teasers for the next installment.

So, in short – no. Sony opted to buck the trend of guaranteed post-credits scenes in superhero films with this film, instead leaving us foaming at the mouth and helplessly waiting for next year’s threequel, Beyond the Spider-Verse. You may now go and relieve yourself of that gallon of soda you sucked down during the film, then begrudgingly wait for the next Spider-Verse film.
