Don Cheadle Teases Pivotal Role For War Machine In Captain America: Civil War

Captain America: Civil War is a movie packed full of characters, and the way directors Joe and Anthony Russo handle that will be a good indication of how well suited they are to taking the helm of the massive Avengers: Infinity War. The story arcs of some heroes will no doubt be more important than others, and it sounds like Don Cheadle's War Machine (or War Hammer as he's been called in promo art) falls into that category.

Captain America: Civil War is a movie packed full of characters, and the way directors Joe and Anthony Russo handle that will be a good indication of how well suited they are to taking the helm of the massive Avengers: Infinity War. The story arcs of some heroes will no doubt be more important than others, and it sounds like Don Cheadle’s War Machine (or War Hammer as he’s been called in promo art) falls into that category.

Talking in a recent interview, the Iron Man 3 star had this to say about how Colonel Rhodes factors into Captain America: Civil War:

“I never know what it’s going to be and they keep their cards very close to their breast with Marvel. I never know where the character’s going to go, but he’s become more and more and in the next one, you’ll see that what happens to Rhodey is a little bit more intense and pivotal to what happens in the rest of the stories.”

The Captain America: Civil War trailer made it appear as if Rhodey dies, and while it’s unlikely that Marvel would spoil such a huge moment in the preview, chances are that the character will be a driving force behind Iron Man’s action in the movie.

Starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Chadwick Boseman, Emily VanCamp, Daniel Brühl, Frank Grillo, William Hurt and Martin Freeman, Captain America: Civil War is set to be released on May 6th, 2016.
