Thanks to Coming Soon and Joblo, we have our first poster and two screen-caps for the Judge Dredd reboot, simply-titled Dredd. The poster, which remains as mysterious as the entire production of the upcoming film, features Karl Urban in a completely black Judge Dredd garb.

It seems strange that the marketing for the film is only picking up now. We still don’t have any trailers or clips and the film is only three months away. In addition to the lack of official releases, the story has suffered some unsavoury publicity, due to leaks and post production hoopla earlier this year and last Fall.

John Wagner, the creator of Judge Dredd, revealed in an interview earlier this year that there are a lot of positive elements to be found in this newest interpretation of the character, but we still remain skeptical.

Regardless of disparaging news or hopeful optimism, Liongate Entertainment is expected to release the movie in theaters on September 21st 2012.

The film, directed by Peter Travis (Vantage Point) and penned by Alex Garland (28 Days Later), stars Karl Urban (Star Trek), Lena Headey (300) and Olivia Thirlby (Juno).

The story loosely follows that of the original comic; Dredd is an officer who has the authority to administer violent and brutal law on the harsh post-apocalyptic streets of Mega City One.

Feel free to check out the images in the gallery below but remember, there’s still a few months before the final product is released, so perhaps reserve your Judgement till then.
