Dwayne Johnson Had The Best Reaction To His Razzie Award Win

Career-wise, Dwayne Johnson is pretty much untouchable right now, with recent blockbusters like Rampage and Skyscraper defying mixed reviews from critics to find box office success. Even his last commercial misfire, 2017’s Baywatch, was sandwiched between two of the year’s biggest hits – specifically, The Fate of the Furious and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. With all this success, Johnson is in a very good position to take in stride any roasting that comes his way, and you can definitely see this in his cheerful response to receiving a Razzie Award.

Though Baywatch received several nominations for the 38th Golden Raspberry Awards, held in March last year, the only dishonor it walked away with was the prize for “Razzie Nominee So Rotten You Loved It,” which almost sounds like a backhanded compliment. But while it’s hardly the most flattering of awards to receive, Johnson seemingly has no trouble counting his blessings, taking to Instagram with an image of his little Razzie next to a much bigger plaque marking 5 million sales of the Moana soundtrack.

Having arrived home after months of filming, the actor shared the photo along with a message reflecting on these two very different accolades:

“Great homecoming for me ????‍♂️

After months away from home due to filming, I come back home to these Christmas gift surprises waiting for me in my office.

Amazing gift from Disney commemorating over 5 MILLION WORLDWIDE SALES for our soundtrack of MOANA, on which I sang the song YOU’RE WELCOME.

And a sweet little GOLDEN RAZZIE AWARD for making BAYWATCH.

Among the projects that Johnson has been keeping busy with for the last year is the upcoming Fast and Furious spinoff Hobbs and Shaw, which sees Johnson and Jason Statham’s title characters go up against a criminal mastermind played by Idris Elba. That film will be hitting theaters on August 2nd, but first, Dwayne Johnson is set to play Dwayne Johnson in the biographical comedy-drama Fighting with My Family, which comes out on February 14th.
