The adaptation of DC Comic’s cult character Lobo has been in development for a long time but it has been gathering speed ever since Brad Peyton was chosen to direct. Now, Bleeding Cool is reporting that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is set to star.

The rumor stems from an untested, unknown source at “a Hollywood party” which The Rock was attending. Of course, this news needs to be taken with a big pinch of salt due to the nature of the source. That being said, The Rock did star in Peyton’s Journey 2 and he also responded to a Tweet when a user suggested he could play a DC hero. So, all things considered, this could become a reality.

The Rock has recently found a PG-13 sweetspot after stealing the show in action films like Fast Five and he has also shown his comic talents in films like The Other Guys. Because of his naturally large size he would be a good fit physically for Lobo and he’ll also be to provide the dark wit that the character requires.

What do you think? Should The Rock play Lobo?
