Now that the merger between The Walt Disney Company and 21st Century Fox is fully complete, it won’t be long before Deadpool, the X-Men and the Fantastic Four are introduced into the MCU. And given the terrible reception to the reboot of the latter, which was helmed by Josh Trank, we imagine Marvel’s eager to get another shot at transitioning the superhuman supergroup from comic book to cinemas.
Obviously, the studio still has quite a bit of ground to cover before we actually see the Four up on the big screen, but it’s understandable that fans are pretty excited about the prospect. After all, the property has yet to receive an enjoyable adaptation and given how everything Marvel touches seemingly turns to gold, having Kevin Feige and co. handle the next reboot will undoubtedly provide Reed, Susan, Ben and Johnny their best chance at starring in a winning movie yet.
Of course, The Walt Disney Company still needs to recast the titular supergroup as what with the adverse experience Michael B. Jordan, Miles Teller, Kate Mara and Jamie Bell all faced in Josh Trank’s film, it’s pretty clear that none of them will be returning. Not to mention that Jordan has already gone on to snag another MCU role in the years since, showing up as Killmonger in Black Panther.
And so, as the studio keeps quiet on who they may be eyeing, numerous actors have begun to throw their hat into the ring for roles in the movie and the latest to do so is Dylan Sprouse, who’s said he’d like to play the Human Torch.
This SDCC news is rockin my world. The #Fantastic4 announcement is so awesome and I will do everything in my power and bother every member of my team daily to get into a casting room for Johnny Storm. Dare I say, I'd even get swoll?

Perhaps best known for his work on The Suite Life of Zack & Cody when he was just a kid, Dylan hasn’t quite made as successful a transition to being an adult actor as his brother Cole has, but he’s certainly been showing up in a lot of various projects lately.
Whether he’d make for a good Human Torch or not in the MCU’s Fantastic Four reboot, well, we’ll leave that one up to you, but with Marvel already having announced Phase 4 and Reed Richards and co. likely arriving in Phase 5, it hopefully won’t be too much longer before we find out for sure who’ll bring the team to life when we see them next.
