Edward Norton Is Looking To Join The Bourne Legacy

With Jeremy Renner set for the lead role in The Bourne Legacy, it was just a matter of time before we heard additional casting news on the film. A while back Rachel Weisz announced her involvement and today, Variety is reporting that Edward Norton is eyeing the villain role in the film. With Jeremy Renner set for the lead role in The Bourne Legacy, it was just a matter of time before we heard additional casting news on the film. A while back Rachel Weisz announced her involvement and today, Variety is reporting that Edward Norton is eyeing the villain role in the film. Director Tony Gilroy is looking for a big name to play the part and Norton definitely falls into that category.

Truthfully, I’d love to see this. Renner going head to head with Norton would make for one hell of a thrilling film. Edward Norton is a fantastic actor who has given stellar performances in films like Fight Club and American History X. He has also done the villain gig in the past with The Italian Job. Truthfully, he’s one of my favorites and the prospect of having him in the film is quite exciting.

Norton hasn’t done anything noteworthy since 2008’s Pride and Glory (a film I really liked despite the crummy reviews) and a film like The Bourne Legacy would be great for him. He has fallen off the map, so to speak and isn’t as big as he once was in the late 90’s. This could be exactly what he needs to regain his former fame.

With his involvement, plus Renner and Weisz also showing up to help lead the film, Tony Gilroy will likely have a hit on his hands, one that may even turn out to be better than Matt Damon‘s efforts with the franchise.
