Elizabeth Debicki’s Ayesha Will Return In Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3

Ahead of the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, it wasn't really made clear who the villain would be. Ayesha seemed pretty sinister in the trailers, but Ego never really came across as the evil lunatic that the sequel ultimately made him out to be. Now, we're learning that one of those characters will be getting more time on screen in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and as you might have guessed, it'll be Elizabeth Debicki's Ayesha.

Ahead of the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, it wasn’t really made clear who the villain would be. Ayesha seemed pretty sinister in the trailers, but Ego never really came across as the evil lunatic that the sequel ultimately made him out to be. Now, we’re learning that one of those characters will be getting more time on screen in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and as you might have guessed, it’ll be Elizabeth Debicki’s Ayesha.

During a recent chat about the threequel, Gunn weighed in on the post-credits scene involving the character in which she talked about creating “Adam” (a.k.a. Adam Warlock) to take down the Guardians, and made it clear that she’ll most definitely be returning as a thorn in the team’s side.

“I absolutely plan on bringing Elizabeth Debicki back. She’s actually one of my favourite actors I’ve ever worked with. I think on this movie between her, Pom Klementieff who plays Mantis, and Chris Sullivan who plays Taserface, they really were three of the best actors I’ve ever worked with and were all such a joy on this film to deal with that I would love to deal with them again.”

Ayesha using Adam as a weapon against the team would probably be all the villains that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 needs, though as the comic book fans among you will know, the latter ultimately becomes one of the greatest heroes in the Marvel Universe. With that in mind, perhaps Ayesha will be teaming up with another unknown foe when Adam eventually sees the errors of his way and fights with the Guardians rather than against them.

It’s still too soon to say, of course, especially as Gunn has only recently started work on the movie. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 doesn’t even have a release date as of right now, though having it drop at some point in 2020 seems probable. As always, we’ll be sure to let you know once we learn more.
