Eminem To Star In Random Acts Of Violence

Looks like Eminem is getting back into film. First we heard news that he signed onto the upcoming movie Southpaw, now it looks like he's getting ready to star in another film, Random Acts of Violence. The film is set to be a crime thriller, similar to The Town or The Departed. More importantly, it's said to carry that same gritty feel that 8 Mile did. David Von Ancken, known for Seraphim Falls and Showtime's Californication, is set to direct. According to Vulture, the story is about: An ex-con smarter than his past is fresh out of prison and trying to stay legit — but his efforts are complicated by his old gang, who want him back on the job. So, too, does the FBI, which hopes he’ll wear a wire and bring down the crime syndicate. The ex-con, meanwhile, tries to play both sides against each other long enough to exact revenge against those — on both sides of the law — who sent him to prison in the first place.

Seems like an interesting plot, and Eminem can definitely act, so as of now, I think this is one to look forward to. The film also has a competent director in David Von Ancken. Seraphim Falls was a decent enough film, and who doesn’t love Californication? I think Random Acts of Violence can turn out pretty good.
