Evidence continues to mount that Darkseid isn’t the only villain poised to make an appearance in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, while a new report by Heroic Hollywood has seemingly pinned down the tyrannical ruler’s true arc.
Teed up as the overriding nemesis in Batman V Superman, it was the release of a Dawn of Justice deleted scene that initially sparked speculation online, one that involved Lex Luthor summoning a being from another dimension. Straying far into spoiler territory, we’ve included said report after the jump should you be wanting to keep any surprises under lock and key for the time being.
So, following up on yesterday’s purported revelation that Steppenwolf will emerge as the true villain of Justice League (thanks, Birth.Movies.Death.), Heroic Hollywood goes one step further to claim that Zack Snyder’s ensemble piece will showcase Darkseid towards the beginning of Part One via some form of flashback sequence.
Here, Justice League will allegedly provide a small overview of the mythic history underpinning the DC Extended Universe, revealing that “around 30,000 years ago, the Amazonians, the Atlanteans, and Man successfully fought off Darkseid here on Earth. He left three motherboxes behind and that folks is what Steppenwolf is after in Justice League: Part One. That is pretty much your plot.”
Details are scarce on the ground for the time being, though it looks all but certain that Justice League will drum up a mighty power struggle between Steppenwolf and DC’s roster of heroes. Look for Zack Snyder’s two-part juggernaut to land across November 17, 2017, followed up by a second, conclusive chapter in 2019.
