Evidence continues to mount that Sylvester Stallone has a cameo role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, after the Creed star was spotted on the sequel’s Atlanta set late last week.
News first came to light via New York Daily News, citing that Stallone on his way to the set, but today’s report hints that the actor may be sporting a rather familiar costume – incidental, of course, but familiar nonetheless. Minor spoilers to follow.
Though the initial set leak sparked online speculation as to who Sylvester Stallone could possibly be playing in Guardians 2, On Location Vacations claims that Stallone’s on-set costume resembles that from Judge Dredd. But before you think we’ve fallen into some space-time paradox where Marvel’s ragtag space group and Stallone’s judge, jury and executioner exist in the same universe, it’s likely that the actor will play a faceless member of the Nova Corps. Not dissimilar to Daniel Craig’s Stormtropper role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, mind you.
Per On Location Vacations:
“Now, this week, we’ve confirmed with someone on the set that Sylvester Stallone has indeed been filming scenes for Guardians of the Galaxy 2. The tipster, who wishes to remain anonymous, also told us, “His costume looks a lot like Judge Dredd.”
All will revealed when Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 shoots for the stars (and theaters) on May 5, 2017. For now, you can check in with Star-Lord and Co. in their civvies.
