One glance at Marvel’s jam-packed slate will tell you that there are two spinoff movies separating Infinity War and the so-far untitled Avengers 4: Ant-Man and the Wasp, which just wrapped production in Atlanta, and Captain Marvel, the long-anticipated standalone pic that’s expected to begin shooting later this year…also in Atlanta.

Largely set in the 1990s, the Brie Larson-fronted pic is coming to us by way of Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, who are due to get the cameras rolling in March – almost one year ahead of the film’s planned release. But could we see Carol Danvers show up on the big screen before her solo outing debuts? It certainly sounds that way.

Though Joe and Anthony Russo have already ruled out a Captain Marvel appearance in Avengers: Infinity War, evidence continues to mount that she’ll at least have a cameo and now, more fuel has been added to the fire thanks to Fandango’s cast list for the movie, which includes Larson on it. Granted, this could be an error, or simply speculation on the outlet’s part, but in our eyes, it’s simply more proof that the hero will show her face in the film.

Said to be Marvel’s “deadliest showdown yet,” Infinity War will herald an epic battle between Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and Thanos, the unruly Mad Titan who’s been hiding in the shadows ever since that post-credits scene of The Avengers. Six years later, and Josh Brolin’s über-villain is finally – finally! – ready to get up off that levitating space throne and take matters into his own giant, oversized hands. Which only strengthens the case for a Captain Marvel cameo, as the gang will need all the help they can get.

Either way though, with or without Mrs. Danvers in tow, Avengers: Infinity War will blasts into theaters on May 4th and from that point on, the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be forever changed.
