Exclusive Video Interview: Jake Gyllenhaal Talks Southpaw And The Boxing Genre

Punching its way into theatres this weekend is the Jake Gyllenhaal-led Southpaw, which comes to us from director Antoine Fuqua. Revolving around a down on his luck boxer who's looking to gt his life back on track, the film features a career best performance from Gyllenhaal and makes a serious case for his name to be in consideration for awards contention later this year.

Last week during Southpaw‘s Toronto press day, we sat down with Gyllenhaal to discuss his newest role. The actor spoke about his take on the boxing genre, how he brought intensity to his role, working with professional fighters and much more.
