Based on the best-selling novel by Bill Bryson, A Walk in the Woods stars Robert Redford as Bill, a travel writer who has returned to the United States after spending a number of years in Britain. One day he gets the idea to hike all 2,200 miles of the Appalachian Trail, which extends from Georgia to Maine. His wife, however, is not about to let him travel it alone, so Bill calls his old friend Stephen Katz (played by Nick Nolte) to come along for the journey. What starts out as a relaxing trip, however, soon turns into something quite different, as Bill and Stephen find themselves getting into all sorts of trouble.
A few weeks back at the Los Angeles press day for the film, we had the pleasure of chatting with both Nolte and Redford for an exclusive interview. They spoke about how A Walk In The Woods is more than just your average buddy comedy, why they enjoy working together, how to play a character that’s so bent out of shape and much more.
Hear what they had to say in the video above and be sure to catch A Walk In The Woods as it’s now playing in theatres!
