Exclusive Interviews: Jamie Foxx And Michelle Monaghan Talk Sleepless

Jamie Foxx hasn't been terribly active lately, but this week he'll return to the silver screen in Baran bo Odar's new thriller Sleepless, playing a Las Vegas cop trying to save his kidnapped son from murderous gangsters. Jamie Foxx hasn’t been terribly active lately, but this week he’ll return to the silver screen in Baran bo Odar’s new thriller Sleepless, playing a Las Vegas cop trying to save his kidnapped son from murderous gangsters. A remake of the 2011 French film Sleepless Night, it’s an action-packed ride from start to finish and proves that despite his absence in front of the camera as of late, Jaime Foxx has still got it.

The actor plays undercover police officer Vincent Downs, who finds himself caught between corrupt cops, internal affairs and nefarious drug dealers when a cocaine heist goes wrong, leaving Downs exposed. As retaliation, his 16-year-old son is kidnapped and Downs must race against the clock in one “sleepless” night to get him back and nail the bad guys.

At the recent press day for the film, which was held in Los Angeles last week, we sat down with Foxx and his co-star Michelle Monaghan, who plays the IA agent tailing Downs, for an exclusive interview. The actors spoke about their big fight scene, the fascination with Internal Affairs and crooked cop stories, their upcoming projects (like Foxx’s Robin Hood) and more.

Check out what the pair had to say up in the video above and be sure to catch Sleepless when it shoots its way into theatres this Friday, January 13th.
