Exclusive: ‘The Boogeyman’ director fully supports ‘Fast & Furious’ crossing over with ‘Jurassic Park’

'Fast & Furious: Cretaceous Drift', anyone?

At the moment, there’s no bigger box office champion than Rob Savage, the helmsman of the latest Stephen King adaptation The Boogeyman. It may not be topping any grossing lists, but given that his latest venture has to contend with The Little Mermaid, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and Fast X, the fact that it’s been posting the numbers it has – namely the $23 million it’s made so far – is nothing short of admirable.

Indeed, anyone familiar with Savage’s work won’t be surprised, as the Host mastermind has proven on quite a few occasions that he knows what he’s doing what it comes to horror, and we can only expect a fruitful filmography to make itself at home on his résumé as time goes on.

But you don’t accomplish what Savage has accomplished without being able to recognize great ideas, and he recently jumped on board with a pitch for the most gleeful, awe-inspiringly stupid combination the world could ever hope to see. Whilst musing about playing in other genres during an exclusive interview with We Got This Covered, Savage threw his support behind a hypothetical crossover between the Fast & Furious and Jurassic Park franchises, as any sane person would.

“I heard about that, and I think that’s excellent! And I think they should definitely do that. 100 percent.”

It’s nothing more than a fun daydream at this point, but we’d be foolish to rule out such a crossover as a possibility. We won’t get into specifics, but after that ending to a certain sci-fi blockbuster that recently made its way to audiences, Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers is looking more like an omen with every passing day.

The Boogeyman is currently playing in theaters.
