Paul Dano stars as the Beach Boys leader, who in the ‘1960s deals with his emerging psychosis as he attempts to craft his avant-garde pop masterpiece, “Pet Sounds.” The story then flashes forward to the 1980s, where Wilson (John Cusack) is a confused man under the 24-hour watch of shady therapist Dr. Eugene Landy (Paul Giamatti) until he meets his future wife, Melinda Ledbetter (Elizabeth Banks).

Last week at the Los Angeles press day for Love & Mercy, we sat down with Dano, Cusack and Banks for an exclusive interview to talk about the their new film, playing Brian Wilson, his musical legacy, and how Melinda Ledbetter saved Wilson’s life.

Check it out in the video above and be sure to catch Love & Mercy when it rolls into theatres on Friday!
