After impressing audiences with 2011’s After Earth, director Mike Cahill and actress Brit Marling are diving into the sci-fi genre once again to bring us I Origins, which hits theatres today. Focusing on a molecular biologist who stumbles upon evidence that could “fundamentally change society as we know it,” the film is an intriguing piece of work with some genuinely interesting ideas that will leave you with some serious food for thought.
Last week, while Cahill and his cast were in NYC to promote I Origins, I had the chance to sit down for an exclusive interview with them. Among other things, we discussed why some of the scenes have no dialogue, how Cahill handled the film’s major turning point, how the actors relate to their characters, and much more.
Check it out below and be sure to catch I Origins as it’s now in theatres!
