Exclusive Video Interview: Cynthia Nixon And Chris Abbott Talk James White

Few character driven movies released in 2015 will leave you as enthralled and emotionally spent as Josh Mond’s James White does.

Trust me when I say that few character driven movies released in 2015 will leave you as enthralled and emotionally spent as Josh Mond’s James White does.

Christopher Abbott stars as the titular character here, a New Yorker heedlessly indulging in self-destructive behavior that everyone around him hopes he will pull himself out of. His father, a man he was never all that close to, has just passed away, and he deals with his passing by escaping from reality through drugs and alcohol. Things, however, get far more serious when he discovers that his mother’s (Cynthia Nixon) cancer has returned, and this time, her chances for survival are not good.

At the film’s recent press day, we had the chance to speak with both Abbott and Nixon. Together, they took the time to describe how they prepared for this deeply dramatic motion picture, how Christopher kept his energy up from one emotionally draining scene to the next and how Cynthia made her character’s cancer suffering look so unnervingly realistic.

Check out what they had to say in the video above and be sure to catch James White when it opens this Friday!
