Currently playing in theatres is the new drama from writer/director Joe Swanberg (Happy Christmas, Drinking Buddies), called Digging for Fire. The film stars Jake Johnson as Tim, who decides to throw a party when his wife (Rosemarie DeWit) and baby go away for the weekend. During the party, however, he discovers a bone and guns, which leads him on exciting adventure with a mysterious woman named Max (Brie Larson).
Praised for its emotionally satisfying story and natural performances, Swanberg’s latest is finding itself with mostly positive reviews. In fact, our very own Matt Donato checked it out a while back and concluded the following:
“Digging For Fire is a wholly entertaining dissection of one of life’s many crossroads.”
Recently, at the LA press day for the film, we sat down with Johnson and DeWitt for an exclusive interview, where they spoke about what it was like working with Swanberg and how doing a project like this differs from a big budget, studio film.
Check out what they had to say in the video above and be sure to catch Digging For Fire as it’s now playing in theatres everywhere.
