Exclusive Video Interview With Jon Favreau And John Leguizamo On Chef

One of the most delicious and enjoyable films of the year is Jon Favreau's Chef, which sees the Iron Man director returning to his indie roots to explore the world of food. Stepping both behind and in front of the camera, Favreau plays Carl Casper, a chef who, after losing his job in a prestigious restaurant, starts up a food truck to rediscover his passion for food and cooking. Along the way, he also attempts to reconnect with his family, who have become estranged from him in recent years due to his demanding work.

Our very own Matt Donato reviewed the film back when it premiered at SXSW 2014 and he offered up the following opinion on it:

Chef’s delicious nature has left me starving for more – more of Favreau’s beautiful, heartfelt storytelling and free creative reign. A true, gourmet treat.

I couldn’t agree more. Chef is a truly wonderful experience and it’s great to see the director returning to the kind of movies that he first made his mark with. Foodie or not, I think that everyone will find something to love about this one.

Recently, at the film’s NYC press day, I had the opportunity to sit down with both Favreau and John Leguizamo to discuss their tasty new creation. Amongst other things, they spoke about how to deal with criticism, what it’s like working on a smaller movie like this, Jon’s upcoming adaptation of The Jungle Book and much more.

Check it out below, and be sure to take a bite out of Chef when it hits theatres this Friday!
